El programa Padres en Bajo Construcción (que, con frecuencia, en este documento denominaremos Primary Prevention [Prevención Primaria] por su nombre original) ha sido evaluado exhaustivamente en quince estudios de investigación diferentes, realizados en forma independiente, y los hallazgos indican que 1) es eficaz para la enseñanza de habilidades de la crianza de hijos, y 2) tiene un impacto positivo en las actitudes de los niños con respecto al uso de técnicas de disciplina para una buena salud mental, cualquiera sea la edad, el sexo, la situación socioeconómica o la raza. Los estudios más recientes demuestran que: 1) los conocimientos adquiridos permanecen al año del seguimiento; 2) algunos alumnos demuestran una mayor capacidad de comprensión después de su participación en el estudio; 3) los maestros que ponen en práctica el programa observan una mejor conducta en los alumnos; y 4) los padres que participan en las actividades del programa dirigidas a padres e hijos aprueban cabalmente el programa Padres en Bajo Construcción.
