ChildBuilders is one of 11 community organizations that serve over 100 child care centers throughout the Houston area in the Family-Centered Child Care Collaborative (FC4), a program funded in 1998 by the Greater Houston Collaborative for Children. One of the major goals of FC4 is to shift the paradigm of focusing only on the child in the child care center to focusing on the child as part of a family system. ChildBuilders offers two parent education consultants to work with the centers in the areas of parent education and involvement. The consultants provide resources, trainings and consultation services to centers involved in the FC4 collaborative.
