Adults & Children Together

Experts tell us that one of the most important factors determining a child's recovery from abuse is the initial response from the first adult receiving the disclosure.

The ACT Program is an in-service for educators, staff and parents covering:

  • Signs and symptoms of child abuse
  • How to appropiately handle a child's disclosure of abuse
  • Reporting laws
  • How to help the abused child

A trained volunteer acts as facilitator using video and discussion format. The program is presented to five or more adults for one to one and a half hours. Participants will receive informative handouts.

Please call our Program Coordinator at 713-400-1155 or email juriarte@childbuilders.org for fees and availability of presentations or to become a volunteer!
