We Help Ourselves® is an anti-victimization education program designed to help children and adolescents:

  • Learn to stay safe
  • Learn how to handle threatening situations
  • Know who to tell and how to get help

WHO® for young children

Trained volunteers explore issues such as child abuse, emotional abuse, bullying, and kidnapping. Volunteers use videos and puppet shows to present material (Pre-K - 2nd grade).

WHO® for adolescents

More mature subjects such as depression, sexual harassment, eating disorders, running away, domestic violence, and peer pressure are explored with adolescents. Volunteers use videotaped vignettes to facilitate discussions (3rd grade- high school).

An adult version of the curriculum- Adults & Children Together (ACT) is designed to educate parents and teachers to understand and recognize physical, sexual and emotional abuse and assist child victims in a mentally healthy manner.

The WHO program was created by the Dallas, TX Mental Healthy Association.
